Nether Winchendon House is tucked away near Nether Winchendon (not surprisingly) not far from Aylesbury. It’s a great location, the gardens are beautiful. There is a real sense of history about the place and it offers plenty of room for guests to spread out and enjoy the grounds. The house is a Medieval and Tudor manor house with a 12th century Great Hall and a 16th century dining room with fine carved oak frieze and oak linenfold panelling. The house has been in the same family for 400 years, right down to Georgianna who is the contact for weddings at Nether Winchendon House.

The barn is a great place for a wedding reception. At this wedding from last summer you can see how the room has been decorated with bunting which has a nice informal look. The only downside is the fairly small DJ/dance area so it might not suit you if aiming to show off your ‘Strictly…’ moves. The courtyard outside the barn lends itself to a wedding meal, it’s a nice little place for guests to mingle or slip outside during the meal for a crafty cigarette :) All in all a fabulous atmospheric country location with great sense of history.
