FAQ

How long have you been doing this? You haven’t just shot 4 or 5 weddings have you?
I’ve been shooting weddings since I got married myself 16 years ago. I photograph weddings year round in every imaginable location and every weather condition. Rest assured that recording one of the most important days of your life is in the capable hands of an experienced, creative photographer who has photographed every kind of ceremony in many diverse locations both in the UK and overseas,
What’s your style?
I like to think my images have a classic feel which will still look good in 50 years time. I balance that with observant photojournalistic images, off-beat pictures and creative photography to make your selection interesting, encompassing and to reflect the many facets of your wedding day. I love it when people look through my sample albums and say they feel as if they had been there on the day. Please take a look at the galleries and at my blog, at the real-life moments, the relaxed portraits and beautiful little detail shots. I shoot more than enough raw material for you to choose your favourites to make up a stunning album of the day.
Digital or Film?
It doesn’t matter one little bit these days. I shot film for ten years before the quality of digital was good enough for me. Now it has surpassed the quality of film images in my opinion and of course offers unparalleled flexibility post-wedding when we tweak all your images and design a beautiful layout for your books.
When do you start and finish on the day?
We usually begin about an hour before the ceremony although you can book us to start about an hour and half before that at the bride’s house. We usually finish at the start of the meal to allow you to relax and enjoy dinner. I can come back afterwards for the first dance and party pictures or to set up the hyde end studios photobooth. We always have a pre-wedding meeting about two weeks before the big day to run through the timings and other details so you have nothing to worry about on the wedding day itself. I only shoot one wedding a day to ensure the best of my energy and attention is focussed on you, your other half and the friends and family.
Do you do packages?
Yes, from £1525. Album packages start at a few hundred more and we have a range of beautiful bespoke designed albums which are hand made especially for you. Call or email for a detailed brochure. We’re more than happy to make up a customised package for you.
Do you do parents and family albums?
We can offer a variety of books from small albums with 20 image through to replicas of the main album in different sizes and finishes. Something for everyone.
What about a pre-wedding (engagement) shoot?
I *love* to shoot these – it’s a great way to get to know each other a little better, shoot some relaxed images of the two of you and have some fun. Your favourite image is included free of charge, you can buy more if you wish or you can order a wedding signature book for the big day itself. An example of a pre-wedding shoot here.
Are you scary?
No, I’m nice.
Do you travel?
Yes, I’ve shot weddings all over the UK and overseas as well. Contact us if you have a wedding abroad and we can give you an idea of pricing.
Do we get to keep all the pictures?
Yes. Book the basic package and you get all the digital files, tweaked and polished on the computer and ready to print. Add a handmade album, box of individual prints or anything else you like.
I hate having my photo taken, how is this going to work?
It’s going to be fine. The majority of the photography is done as the day happens. Usually we organise a fun and relaxed short ten minute portrait session of the two of you at some stage. It’s a nice little break from the day and it gives us a chance to capture some stylish, classic images for your album. Also there are usually a few minutes of family shots but we organise this so it’s quickly and efficiently completed.
Any hidden costs?
Nope. VAT is included, as is mileage unless it’s a few hours drive away from Reading in Berkshire and after the wedding you don’t have to buy anything else unless you really want to of course.
How do we book you?
My favourite question! A completed booking form and a booking payment secures the day in my diary (only one wedding per day). Clickez-vous ici to contact me and check if I am free on your date. We tend to get booked up 8-12 months in advance for the popular dates (Friday Saturday and Sunday, April to October).
